Monta Loma holds a Fall Festival each year to raise donations and build community. This is a fun and highly anticipated event with a carnival-type atmosphere. We offer a selection of easy-to-eat foods and classic fair treats like popcorn and cotton candy. Each classroom hosts a fun game where anyone can participate and win a small prize. Tickets for the games and food are available to purchase online or at the event. Contact your student’s teacher to see how you can help with game setup, or contact the PTA to volunteer for this exciting, memory-making school fundraiser.

Monta Loma’s biggest fundraiser of the year is our Walk-A-Thon, generally held each spring. Kids and staff walk laps in the field to music while volunteers sell amazing food, drinks and treats to families and local community members alike. We hold a prize drawing with a wide selection of donated items from gift certificates to local eateries, fun activities with staff members, to sport and art classes, to museum trips and more. Students are encouraged to solicit donations from family and friends in sponsorship of their participation, not based upon lap count. Monta Loma PTA accepts cash and credit cards at all of our fundraiser events so come prepared to eat, play and support your child and our school. This event is always a huge success and so much fun thanks to our fabulous community coming together and is not to be missed!

The Walk-A-Thon at Monta Loma school relies heavily on donations from local stores and our diverse family community. In the past we’ve had families prepare favorite delicious dishes from quesadilla and pupusa platters to barbecue, lumpia and even homemade inari to sell at the event to help raise money for various school needs. We encourage anyone who wants to help or know anyone interested in assisting with food preparation, baking, purchasing supplies, solicitation of donations, or otherwise volunteering time to reach out to the PTA for more information on how you can help make this event a success. We value every aspect of our amazing volunteers and could not do this event without your help.

We offer movie and game nights each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, and other treats are available for purchase. For movie night, parents and kids sit on blankets, sleeping bags, or you name it, and watch a recently released (age appropriate) movie. At game night, families bring their favorite games to play with friends.
